The tart is a great classic, almost taken for granted in the kitchen. But if combined with the right ingredients, it can become a surprise dessert every time you prepare it.

You can vary from the dough to the filling, whether with creams or jams, but the result will remain unchanged: pure goodness in every slice!

The case of the surprise dessert is precisely that of this recipe, a sweet tart with a heart of Sicilian I.G.P. Blood Orange jam, with a sweet flavor and rich in zest combined with the delicacy of almond flakes!

The recipe is prepared and created by food blogger Antonella Audino

Shortbread preparation with planetary mixer
1. Place the butter cut into pieces with the flour into the cold bowl and sand with the leaf, add egg and icing sugar, salt and flavorings and knead with the leaf without exceeding and without heating the pastry.

2. Collect the pastry from the bowl, shape it into a loaf, wrap it in cling film or baking paper and leave it in the fridge for a few hours, no less than four kings.

3. Take the pastry, roll it out between two sheets of baking paper lightly dusted with flour, form the base and line the 24cm baking tray, spread the Agrisicilia blood orange marmalade.

4. With the remaining shortcrust pastry, form long, thin cylinders and create concentric crevices to close the tart and cook at 180° static for thirty minutes.

5. A little more than five minutes after the final cooking, remove the pan, spread with a thin layer of jam and distribute the almond flakes which will toast slightly in the remaining five minutes giving crunchiness and flavor
