Instructions

1. Put the flour with the sugar, baking powder, vanilla and eggs in a planetary mixer or in a bowl, begin to knead, then slowly pour in the melted butter and milk, finally the salt.

2. Knead until you obtain an elastic and homogeneous compound. Form a smooth ball and place in a bowl covered with a cloth, let it rise until doubled in size

3. Meanwhile, in a bowl, soak the raisins in the water and liqueur (the water level should cover the raisins).

4. After the leavening time, squeeze the raisins well and mix them with the peeled and diced apple and with the jam.

5. Divide the dough into 9 pieces of equal weight, form balls, roll out with the help of a rolling pin and add a little filling in the centre, then seal well forming balls which will be placed in the tree-shaped mold Christmas cake (or another mold of your choice), brush the surface with the lightly beaten egg and let it rise again until doubled in size.

6. Brush the surface again and bake in a static preheated oven at 170° for about 30/35 minutes, until the brioche bread is browned.

7. Leave to cool and sprinkle with icing sugar, garnish with candied cherries and enjoy.
