Ingredients

TART BASIC INGREDIENTS
220 g of Majorca flour or 00
150 g of cold butter
100 g of sugar
2 yolks
1 pinch of salt
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
½ grated lemon peel

CAKE INGREDIENTS

2 yolks
100 g of sugar
60 g of starch
60 g of 00 flour
60g of seed oil
10 g of baking powder
1 pinch of salt
½ grated lemon peel

FILLING
300 g of Agrisicilia mandarin jam

A sweet alternative for those who can’t choose whether to prepare a crumbly tart, or a soft cake in any case

Indecision was born the ‘Tart or cake with mandarin jam’, the recipe is from the food blogger Antonella Audino.

This dessert with different textures and an excellent flavor given by the combination of the shortcrust pastry, the cake dough and the Sicilian mandarin jam, which gives an incomparable flavor and aroma

Instructions

Tart preparation

1.Combine the flour and the butter into small pieces, sandblasting the ingredients, add the sugar and one yolk at a time, making it absorbed before adding it again. Grate the lemon peel and add the vanilla and a pinch of salt, kneading quickly, then form a ball and store in the fridge for about ten minutes.

2. Spread the shortcrust pastry on the cake pan, pricking the oven with the prongs of a fork and fill with the mandarin jam.

Cake preparation
1. Whip the eggs with the sugar forming a high and soft whipped. Add the powders and oil working quickly. Pour the mixture onto the tart base with the jam, level and bake at 200° in a preheated static oven.

2. Bake for about 35/40 minutes. Remove the tart from the very cold pan.
